So I was browsing the internet, hoping I would stumble across some hot middle-aged actor whom I hadn’t seen before. And lo and behold, my prayers were answered when I saw Daniel Boyd Payne (or Dan Payne for short)!
Dan Payne is a Canadian actor. He was born in Canada and he was blessed with the opportunity to travel and move a lot during his life, so he had the chance to see various countries. He and his family moved a lot throughout Canada, but later he travelled other countries as well. The travel enabled Dan and his relatives (brother Josh and sister Cathy) to become even closer. Importantly, Dan discovered the power of humor as a fantastic tool to adapt to new conditions and countries.
Dan is quite a big man, standing at 6’4” (193 cm) and weighing almost 230 lbs (104 kg). Although these are great advantages when it comes to playing sports, Dan has always devoted due attention to his education, as he considers it extremely important. He was an excellent student and earned Honor Roll in Matriculation in high school, then was awarded scholarships in various universities in Canada. He enrolled University of Calgary, and at the same time started the professional career of an athlete (voleyball for the U of C Dinosaurs). Being engaged in sports at the University proved to be a great incentive for him to travel all over Canada, and that’s when he fell in love with travel in general. His volleyball career was pretty successful, but he had to give it up when he moved to Holland. Dan says that he learned a lot about himself while he was coaching at volleyball camps for children with special needs.
He then moved from Holland to Australia and stayed there for the next four years, spending time with his brother Josh for the most part. In Australia, Dan discovered his passion for photography and creative arts. He didn’t want to give up his childhood dream of becoming an actor, though, and the career of an actor slowly began to take shape when he and his brother co-wrote and directed a stand up comedy. Enchanted by the art of acting and other creative arts, Dan decided to move to London, England to pursue this career further. In London he kept on with taking acting classes and continued to perform on stage and in film. That’s about the time when he realized that his tall stature and specific accent would be definite assets when it comes to acting. After about five years in London, having gathered enough experience, he decided to go back to Canada. But now Dan was a changed man, with all the new experiences, acting knowledge and skills he was ready to embark on the real acting career.
We’ll leave you with a selection of his hot pictures, which I hope you’ll find interesting, exciting and amusing. A lot of them show Dan’s sense of humor, which we on this blog especially value in every man. Dan is married to his wife Daylon and they have two sons, Elijah and Grayson.
Gay people will probably recognize Dan thanks to his role in Mulligans, where he played Nathan Davidson. He also played Kull Warrior in Stargate SG-1 (TV series), John MacLeod in Alice, I think (TV Series), Sean Ellison in Battlestar Galactica (TV Series) and Wraith in R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour (TV series), among others.
Remember the faddish 1990s when one couldn’t find a hot new male actor that could serve as the epitome of masculinity? Various fads came and went but it seems that masculine men and beards are not so easy to remove from the humanity’s collective archetypal memory. Whether male or female, straight, bi or gay, we all feel instinctively more at ease and secure in the presence of a manly man.
Gerard Butler has become a symbol of not only a handsome actor, but also, more importantly, a rough manly man who can serve as a beacon of hope and masculinity to all those lost male souls that badly need someone who they can look up to. And it seems that the casting directors and producers at Hollywood have also gotten this bit right, so they have pretty much always cast Gerard in roles that require a significant level of toughness and machismo. I saw him for the first time in the movie "300" where he played perhaps the most courageous military leader of all times, legendary Leonidas. Although the movie itself wasn’t really true to the historic facts, I liked it nevertheless because it’s obvious that the main intention of the movie was to encourage men to be men and be proud of what they are. Besides, it’s such a great fun to watch hot muscled and virtually naked men fighting at a battlefield.
It’s interesting to know that Gerard went to a law school and was about to become a lawyer. But, since he had a habit of spending time with his buddies in pubs his law career suffered. He held a position of a trainee lawyer at an Edinburgh law firm but due to his lifestyle he often missed work. All those party antics were not quite compatible with the serious career of a lawyer. Only one week before he qualified as a lawyer he was fired.
Gerard said to himself one day "Fuck it all, I’m going to become famous!" and he moved to London to pursue his dream of becoming a famous actor. He says about this time: "When I started out, I’m not sure I was actually in it for the right reasons. I wanted very much to be famous." And he also added "I did expect to succeed and I did have faith that I would. In reality, though, it has turned out to be something very different to what I wanted. It’s the work and not the adulation that has proved to be the most fulfilling."
Perhaps so, but I bet that he still enjoys the attention that he gets wherever he appears.
He worked really hard to make his career of an actor happen and the results did not disappoint. Although he’s been cast mostly in pretty stereotypical roles so far (e.g. just remember his role in stupid movie "Game") I still hope he will get some more serious roles in the future and I’m pretty sure he’ll be able to pull them off just fine.
Regarding the fact that he’s considered a very fine example of a masculine man, Gerard said this on one occasion: "In Scotland I’m just like a lot of other guys, but in America I’m seen as a very strong, masculine guy."
Despite his overwhelming success and popularity, Gerard has remained a totally cool, down-to-earth guy with whom you can talk normally as if he were your neighbor. Actually, I read many times that Gerard is considered to be one of the nicest people in the showbiz today.
Oh, one more thing. If you read all the way to the end of this post you certainly deserve this bit of information as well. Speaking of Gerard Butler, the webmaster of this blog (yours truly) has been told many times by various people that he looks a lot like Gerard Butler, especially as far as the face is concerned. Hmmm….
Today’s hunk is American actor Jesse Eden Metcalfe. He’s probably best known for playing the role of John Rowland in Desperate Housewives. Jesse was born in Carmel Valley, California. He has French and Italian blood running in his veins thanks to his father and his mother is of Portuguese descent.
Needless to say, Jesse likes to play sports and anything physical. He played in several basketball leagues while he went to school. In this photo collage I selected mostly his photos where he’s training boxing with his coach. There are also several pics from the beach and also a few intimate pics with a girl.
But, even celebrities have their problems, so in March 2007 Jesse was admitted in a drug rehabilitation facility. He said that alcohol was the culprit.
Luckily, that bad episode is over now, and I’m looking forward to seeing his new projects, such as his new role in the new Dallas series.
Jesse Metcalfe is the prototype of a hot straight man that I particularly dig. He’s well-built, but not too much. The amount of muscles is just right. He is hairy, particularly his face (beard) and legs, and there is some hairy bush on his chest as well. The tattoo that he has on his left arm looks cool and doesn’t distract from his overall massive, muscular physique. Just a perfect manly man’s man.
Some hot pictures of actor Henry Cavill who currently plays Superman in the latest movies. He is a very handsome man, but also very muscled, hairy and downright masculine.
He looks like a real beast on some of these photos, as you can clearly see for yourself. His big, muscular chest looks like on the Ancient Greek statues, and his beard gives him an almost intimidating look.
A little tidbit from his biography: Before he got into acting he wanted to join the Military because he thinks he owes something to his country.
Which actor, sportsman or other public figure you’d like to see here? Please leave the suggestions in the comments section of this post. Thanks!
It seems that the era of bland and unmanly actors is gone and we’re witnessing the new dawn of hot, manly actors that are much more interesting and convincing in the roles of strong superheroes. For instance, take a look at Hugh Jackman who plays Logan/Wolverine in the
X-men series and Henry Cavill who will be playing Superman in the upcoming Man of Steel movie.
They’re totally masculine and yummy, I’m so glad that the Hollywood producers are opting for strong, hairy, bearded, real men instead of some other options, at least when superheroes are concerned.
Here are a few pictures of Hugh Jackman caught while he was getting out of the sea.
And then we have the equally hot pictures of shirtless Henry Cavill. He looks very similar to Hugh Jackman in those pics, especially because of the strong, perfect six pack stomach and strong pecs and biceps. And yeah, their beard is epic. Hopefully the new Superman won’t be required to shave his body, and if we’re really lucky, he won’t have to shave his beard either.
